“Yeah, I believe so, and I’m rarely wrong when it comes to the holidays, unless you count three years ago, or that Christmas, in, hell, way back when.”

“Please, please, let you be right this time.”

As it turned out, Frank wasright. It continued snowing the following day, but only lightly. By mid-afternoon, everyone who had made reservations had arrived at the B&B, including the Greenes.

The minute Mrs. Greene saw Bill, she hurried over to give him a hug, whispering, “Are you and Erik…?”

He grinned. “Still a couple? Yep. Actually, we’ve been living together for the last few months.”

“I knew it. I could tell at Thanksgiving dinner last year. Not that it was too hard, since the two of you were sitting real close.”

“It was a small table.”

She snorted indelicately. “It could have been as big as that one—” she pointed to the largest of the dining room tables, “—and you’d still have been practically in each other’s laps.”
