Chapter 66

“Yes!” he shouted, forgetting all about being silent, and I laughed through a moan that led to my own release seconds after his was over.

“Great,” I said, panting as he helped me sit up and used tissues to clean me up. “Now everyone knows what we’ve been doing.”

“Of course. There was never any doubt, was there?”

“Probably not.”

Once our clothing was righted as much as possible, I ran my hands through my hair and his, straightened his tie, and kissed his nose. “Dinner’s on you this evening,” I said as I walked to his door and opened it. “Surprise me.”

“I always do.”

“Love you,” I said as I stepped into the hallway.

“Love you, too, Paulie.”

I smiled and went back to work, ignoring the snickers and with a hitch in my stride, confident that, in the years to come, we’d be at each other’s side, no matter what.
