Chapter 94

God, he had fucking nerve, showing up here. What had Seb been expecting…open arms? After all the emails I’d sent him in the first few weeks when I’d had regrets about the way we’d parted. The texts to which I’d never gotten a response…He’d ignored me all this time, and now he wanted to talk like we were friends and shit? Hell no!

After the store closed, it took another hour for all of us to vacuum, count the money, and lock up. Exhausted, I trudged to my car and stopped abruptly when I saw Seb leaning against it. The fact that he looked good in the waning light just made me angrier that I’d noticed.

“Get the fuck off my car,” I snapped.

He moved slowly, eyeing me warily as I drew closer. “What bug got up your ass? I thought we were still friends, at least,” he said, having the nerve to sound pissed off. “What, I can’t say hello? Ask how you are?”
