“Oh, by the way, Jacob from downstairs said you had an open mic last night and the place was mobbed. Youknow I was skeptical of you buying this place, but wow, you have made such a success of it. I am so proud of you.” Trevor’s mom hugged him. “Let us know next time you have one, I would love to come check it out.” Kate continued a mile a minute. “The girl down stairs said you were the best of the whole night, Jordan.”


It must have just then occurred to his mom that if Jordan played here last night and he was still here today, he must have slept over, because she got a wide gleaming smile and turned and winked at his father.


Trevor tried to ignore his mom and fiddled with his coffee, trying unsuccessfully to dodge her probing smile.


Jordan grinned. “There were a lot of great performers last night, but I’m glad she enjoyed it.” He grabbed his coffee and took a sip.


“So, we will be heading out. You know I cannot leave until I see my baby.”
