Chapter 8

“That gives a bad name to all burglars,” Myles grumbled. “We’re passive, not aggressive, television crime stories to the contrary.”

“Well, you and I are,” Amery replied. “I can’t speak for any other of our brotherhood.”

“If they were aggressive, they’d have taken up armed robbery.”

“True, I suppose,” Amery agreed, although he wasn’t certain that was the truth.

Soon after Myles had left for work Amery was on the computer, despite his husband’s asking him not be inquisitive. He wanted to get into the police department files to find out what the detective in charge of the Newells’ case had discovered about their murders.

Not that I can do anything, if I can get in, but it will be interesting to know if he does believe it was the result of a burglary gone bad.
