Chapter 5

“Ever dated a country boy?”

Evan had to laugh. “I’ve never been out of the city.”

Ty scooted closer. His big brown eyes were serious—and way too close for Evan’s comfort. Evan wanted to back away before he did something crazy like throwing himself at the other man. His body refused to obey his command. He held his breath as Ty leaned in.

“I like you, Evan,” Ty said softly. His gaze flicked downward to Evan’s mouth, then back up to meet his panic-stricken glance. “I think we should try a relationship, even if it’s only a couple of weeks.”

Evan’s body had no difficulty with that scenario. His mind immediately conjured an image of the two of them entwined on Lucas’ big leather sofa. His stomach felt like a whole flock of butterflies had taken up residence inside. His groin was putting off enough heat to warm the Pacific if he waded into the surf.

“What should I say?” he blurted out, even as he felt himself leaning forward to meet Ty halfway.
