Saul sighed. “Okay…uh, maybe working it—”


Not letting him finish, Storm said, “Okay, so here’s the deal. I’m the owner of a ranch out along the Chilton Trail. It’s called South Wind. I need men out there right now to keep the ranch up, but I don’thave any money to pay them. While you’re there, you’ll have a place to stay and food to eat, and I’ll let you know when your debt is paid.” Storm gave him an evil smile as he continued. “It ain’t quite asbloody as what I wanted, but I guess it’ll have to do. Is that agreed?”


“It don’t matter, damn it! Because whatever it is, you’re gonna do it!”


“But I don’t even know how to ride a horse.”
