Chapter 18

“Yeah, it was. Now, we have to work it off.”

Dirk cocked an eyebrow. “Doing what?”

“I’m taking you to one of my favorite clubs, so finish your tea while I pay the bill.”

“I’ll pay my half,” Dirk protested.

“Nope, this was my idea, I invited you, I’m paying. And before you ask, I’m hardly poor. When you live as long as I have, you learn to put money away for the next time around. It’s accumulated quite well over the years.”

“You and my father,” Dirk said. “I guess that’s one advantage to living a long time.”

“If you plan it right, it can be.”

Bay watched Dirk with amusement as they walked into the club. The younger man looked around, his eyes widening when he realized where they were, or more to the point what kind of club it was.

“They’re almost all men,” he whispered, looking up at Bay.

“Usually are, in a gay club,” Bay agreed with a grin. Putting one hand on Dirk’s shoulder, he steeredhim to a vacant seat at the bar. “Name your poison.”
