“Bay, it might behoove you to get what weapons you need from my armory—and now,” Lex said. “We have company coming, if the slaves I sense beginning to gather around my property are any indication.”
“A not so subtle way of saying we’ll soon be under attack,” Tonio said dryly.
Bay left the room, returning several moments later carrying a broadsword, with another one strapped in a sheath across his back.
“Felan, if you would,” Lex said.
“I’ll be back for you in a second, Bay,” Felan replied as he gripped Lex’s and Dirk’s arms.
They landed just outside the serpentine wall surrounding Constantine’s estate. True to his word, Felan vanished, returning almost instantly with Bay. Lex did what was necessary to demolish the wards on the wall, Felan teleported them onto the grounds, and then said to the trio before disappearing, “Holler when you need transportation home.”
