Bay flipped to a game show. “I’ll pass on politics, thanks.”

“I guess that ties up the loose ends, other than what happened to the man—” Dirk made finger quotes, “—who was keeping them captive.”

“I’m sure he was gone when the police arrived. I wonder where this house was he was supposedly using.”

“I wonder why Tonio didn’t tell the rest of us that the girls planned on using my idea to explain theirreappearance,” Dirk replied.

“The women—” Bay emphasized the word, “—might have kept it a secret, even from him and Lex, until it happened—with Camilla’s help.” Bay chuckled. “The cops will have a hard time finding the guy. Maybe we’ll be assigned to do that.”
