“Not at all. The first was fun, as far as I recall. Having you in my life, as annoying as you can be at times, has been worth it.” Lex sighed. “All right. I’ll teach you—and Bay. I think he’s probably capable of learning the spells. After all, he is a warlock, if a lapsed one. When are you planning on moving?”

“We figured this weekend. It’s not like I’ve got much to move, other than my clothes and personal items. Everything else came with the apartment.”

“Feel free to take anything from there you want. My gift to you. For now, plan on meeting me at Bay’s home tomorrow evening.”

“Yep, no thanks to you.” Dirk leaned over to give him a kiss.

“I did offer to come in with you. It’s not my fault you thought he’d take it better if I wasn’t standing right there when you gave him the news.”
