Chapter 16

For the next five hours or so, Adam kept busy with several things simultaneously. He had to be certain that the store would be ready for the reopening on Monday, just two days away. Then, he had to make sure the movers arranged the furniture in the right rooms in the apartment.

Naturally, he and Lance would sleep in the master bedroom, completely redone with a walk-in closet and a large bathroom fitted with a whirlpool tub—a surprising addition, courtesy of a blushing Mike, who claimed it would be nice to have one.

The twins would each get their own newly furnished bedroom since the old beds were getting too small forthem. There was one extra bedroom for Megan, two outside bathrooms, a spacious office where he and Lance could work side by side—and maybe Mike, too, one day soon—plus a playroom for the kids, a large living room, a kitchen, and a dining room. They had also added a laundry room with a brand new washer anddryer.
