Chapter 32

“There’s a mid-day meal!” Sartin exclaimed. Satisfaction and pride filled his body. Today he would contribute to his own healing and survival.

With wide eyes, Maru crab-walked away from the catch as Sartin threw it near the beach. He stared at the spear with the fish, his eyes full of fright and wonder at the same time. Their movements slowed to flopping as the life left them.

Sartin looked concerned. “I Sartin of the Pod Belzer. I say that already.”

Maru retreated to the edge of the jungle. He stood and raced into the rain forest.

Sartin scooted to the waist-deep water. He grabbed one of the fish off the spear and took a bite. The energy from the fish filled his stomach and descended into his tail.
