Chapter 88

“Now we eat!” Belzer said above the hubbub.

“And please, come wish the new couple well,” Jarnyo added.

A small group of well-wishers made their way to the front of the cove and wished Sartin and Sommar and their mothers well. They congratulated Jarnyo and Belzer at the combining of their two pods as well.

The men and Alewars once again offered an excellent banquet for the Sea People. Sartin and Sommar took quick bites when they could, between greeting guests or leaning over to give one another a peck on the lips or cheek.

Sartin reveled in the bliss that filled his body. He had dreamed of this day since he was ten or eleven. Here he stood, Coupled with Sommar, celebrating with the entire population. Most of the people ate, while others trickled forward to greet the party. Soon all the food disappeared and everyone’s wishes had been spent on the new couple.

“Shall we go?” Sartin asked after the final party had been greeted.
