Chapter 10

As he slashed through the large yellow eyes, the creature thrashed as much as he could before retreating into the water. Jade walked toward Marcus and fell to the ground. Marcus knelt beside him, checking to make sure he was ok. Everything on top looked fine, however the creature managed to slash Jade’s leg with the kind of mark that required stitches.

Marcus looked around for their clothes and found his shirt. He ripped it up and wrapped it around Jade’s leg. Jade moaned a bit in pain.

Marcus continued looking around for any signs of plants he may be able to use as medicine. Though his main focus was chemistry, he had read a bit on what some scientists believed prehistoric people used as medicine. Yet, nothing around him looked helpful.

In a panic, Marcus looked around once again. His eyes kept going back to a gathering of purple flowers. He had seen those before when he had first arrived. That’s right, he thought. We are by the cave. It must be close by.
