Chapter 12

Joe spent his time in the saddle thinking about that wrestling match. He’d surely enjoyed the feeling of Roy’s skin against his. He wondered what it would be like to be that close to the man without the pretense of a game. At least now he knew that Roy liked other men as much as most men liked women. Joe’simagination had always been good, and he worked up quite a few likely scenarios before dinnertime—Roy riding alongside him, their hands entwined; Roy’s lips on his, hungry and demanding; Roy’s lean length stretched out alongside Joe’s—that last thought had to be interrupted, lest someone wonder at the tented shape of Joe’s trousers.

After dinner, Joe took a little walk to find a place to relieve himself. He was surprised to hear footsteps behind him, and when he turned, to see Roy following him.

“Wanted a chance to talk in private,” Roy said as he came closer. His brows were lowered, his gaze solemn.
