Neil Logan, recently graduated equine veterinarian, always felt he’d know when he found the man he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Unfortunately, though Neil cares deeply for him, his college roommate Jordan is not that man. Neil takes a summer position far from home, foolishly thinking time and distance will cool Jordan’s feelings for him, and they can both move on.<br><br>Neil’s job is on an island attractive to tourists. There, horses are the sole mode of transportation, and Rolf Gundersen is the head farrier. Once Upon an Island

Neil couldn’t decide if it were his imagination, but it seemed to him that as soon as Rolf became aware that Neil was standing next to Betsy his expression changed, and he quickly turned away. Neil realized he had left his camera on video and had recorded not only Kip, but Rolf as well.


That night back in his room, Neil watched the video over and over. He watched in slow motion until he was sure Rolf had had a definite reaction to seeing him. The question of what was going on with Rolf was becoming more and more of an obsession.
