“I’m glad he did—yeah, well, at first, not so much,” Jordan said. “I was kind of upset. But later I started thinking, and I realized that if I’d paid attention, I would’ve seen you weren’t on the same page with our relationship as I was. I’m sorry.”

“You’re sorry? I’m the one who’s sorry for not having the balls to be up front and tell you myself,” Neil said, then turned to Kip. “But it was still my job to straighten this out, not yours.”

“Well.” Kip smiled and looked at Jordan. “I had an ulterior motive for calling him.”

Neil looked back and forth between the two men.

Kip went on. “You showed me Jordan’s picture, remember? I figured if you weren’t gonna snatch up a hot guy like him, I’d give it a shot.”

“And when you sent me pictures of Kip, and he called and told me how you felt about our relationship…” Jordan shrugged and grinned at Kip. “I started texting him. We kinda hit it off as pen pals and so…here we are.” He gave Kip a warm smile, which Kip returned.
