They made their way toward the dorms. Neil had decided not to move his things to Rolf’s until the next day. When they came to Rolf’s lane they stopped to say goodnight. The four men gave each other hugs, each saying something about how good the evening had been and how well everything seemed to be going.
Neil held Jordan just a bit longer. Holding his old friend close, he whispered, “Thank you for understanding and being such a good sport about how things are working out,”
“It’s all good. I think from the way things are going it’ll work out well for all of us.
As Neil and Rolf walked down the lane toward Rolf’s bungalow, Rolf took Neil’s hand. “You are feeling all right about this?” Rolf asked.
“Yes. It all seems a bit unreal. It all happened so fast. I didn’t know Jordan was coming. I didn’t have a chance to tell you about him. And now Kip and Jordan seem to be together.”
“You have no regrets? You are not sorry the way this has worked out?”
