Chapter 51

Trent’s hand closed on his shoulder. “Hey, your boy will be fine.”

“My boy?”

“Your boy, Brody.”

Finn smirked. “Don’t let him hear you say that.”

Finn tensed when he saw Brody was up on the board. His knees were bent, his arms were out at his side, and his back was bent in balance. The perfect surfing position and he rode the wave with no fear. Finn couldn’t see his expression, but imagined Brody was grinning from ear to ear.

Trent released Finn’s shoulder. “See, he’s fine.”

“More than fine.”

Trent snorted and shook his head.

Brody rode wave after wave, and Finn relaxed, and sank into his chair.

The day went by with few incidents. They treated a man with sand in his eyes, and a girl who cut her heel on a shell, and a woman with heat stroke. The day was drawing to a close, and Finn waited for Brody to come in from the sea.
