Chapter 29

My growling stomach woke me up early the next day. I was famished; I hadn’t eaten anything since lunch the day before. I jogged to the kitchen and sank my teeth into a juicy red apple before raiding my fridge. It was nearly empty, so I poured cereal and milk in a bowl and scarfed it down standing by the counter.

With my hunger sated, I made coffee. I’d dreamt about Liam last night. Again. I’d dreamt of joyous laughter, kissable lips, and long, strong legs entwined with mine. About roving hands, glittering eyes, and freckled shoulders.

I rubbed my hand over my head. I was hopelessly smitten.

While waiting for the coffee, I splashed water on my face and picked up my phone from the bedroom. I was in the middle of re-reading my text conversation with Liam, when my phone went off.

At ten past six in the morning, it could be only one person.
