Chapter 11

“It’ll be hard on a cruise ship, especially if we get different shifts.”

Mikhail’s humor returned, and he boasted, “We’re heroes. I snap my fingers, and the captain jumps. We’ll get the same shift.” His eyes enlarged. “The captain!” They raced to his cabin.

Fortunately, he was on the phone, so his wife entertained them in the elegant abode. “So, have you seen my husband with other women?” She smiled, or was it a smirk?

Mikhail grinned. “Can we have an attorney before we answer?”

She gave each a glass of wine without asking and sat. “It’s a silly joke, but we like it, or I like it and the captain goes along with it. My husband and I are very grateful to both of you.”

The captain finished his call, and she sat close to him on a small sofa. He sternly looked the guys in the eyes. “I’m kicking you off my ship.”

His wife slapped his arm. “Stop teasing and say the whole story.” Her Italian accent was endearing.
