Chapter 14

Solomon stroked a hand over Mikhail’s face and took a deep breath in. “I’ve always loved your masculine scent. You are very handsome.” They kissed again. “I’d like to have you face to face so I can admire your features and assure myself we are truly back together.”

“We are back together, and I thank God. We will grow old, very old, together, my friend, and have grandchildren.” Mikhail led Solomon to bed, and they climbed in. He stroked his fingers over Solomon’s face, lips, and neck. “I love you. Can we never speak of our terrible past again? We both know it’s there. Just let it drift into the distant past.”

“That’s a good idea. I’d like it to be only in the distant past. I feel terrible about it, I think—”

“You may speak if you wish, but if you’re going to beat yourself up all over again, please don’t.”

“Then all I’ll say is that I love you so very very very very much.”

Their legs intertwined, and they rolled the width of the bed and back, kissing and groping each other.
