She said, “I’m glad you’re still alive. You were always a good person and a great neighbor. I remember when Randy got hurt, and you came here day after day to work the cranberry harvest for us. You never took a penny. That’s a grand neighbor.”
“You and Randy were good people. I was glad to help. I’m sorry you lost everyone. Are you staying here?”
“Yes, as long as I can. I have a small garden, chickens, and have some cranberry plants left, so I get along.”
They chatted for a bit, and then Travis and Grandpa drove home.
Grandpa confessed, “I had an affair with her one summer. Grandma and I weren’t getting along, and neither were Paula and Randy. We both ended up confessing to our spouses, and we all stayed friends.” He wiped his eyes. “She’s a good woman. Still sexy.”
“Grandpa, you don’t still get it up, do you?”
