When Grant reached the part where Channing had been fooled about Rafael’s fertility, the beta chuckled. “Oh, I’d have paid real money to see the man’s face when he found out his cash cow was infertile. I’ve met him, you know. A pompous little weasel, but I never suspected he’d stoop this low. I’ll be pleased to see him brought down.”

Encouraged, Grant soldiered on, bringing them to the current question of what he was going to do with Rafael once the omega was free. When he’d finished, he looked up at the wise, sensible man he hoped would untangle this mess, only to see repressed laughter threatening to explode.

After one look at Grant’s astonished expression, Siegel abandoned his struggle and had a good belly laugh while Grant fought his impatience.
