Chapter 20

Toby placed his head on my shoulder and whispered, “You could use the tunnel in Coleman Park.”

Content, thrilled to have him at my side, I tangled fingers with his, sighed. “It’s a lovely place. Dark. Secretive. It’s a very constructive suggestion. I rather like it.”

“There’s plenty of room for me to clean up the mess, and quickly.”

“What about midnight runners? Bitter does have a few.”

“You could choose a rainy night. Runners are few on cold and wet nights.”

“Tomorrow evening?”

“Friday is perfect.”

“I just happen to be available.” I told him, “Kalin lives by the park. I can attempt to seduce him during a rainy walk. We’ll enter the tunnel…”

“I’ll be ready thereafter.”

“As expected of you,” I whispered.

We kissed, melting together under the moon and shining stars, windblown and shivering. The fresh cold enveloped us, creating a package of sorts.

“I’ll use the grave.”

“Of course.”
