Cameras weren’t Andy’s field of expertise, but he liked what he heard. He was about to ask more in-depth questions when something hard poked pointedly into his shin. He looked up to see Roni on the verge of a rant.
“And…we should probably stop talking shop,” Andy said, shooting Roni and Scooter an apologetic grin. He took Scooter’s hand under the table. “I’m going to have to do something extra nice so you won’t run away with Roni, huh?”
“Oh, no, you already lost, Andy,” Roni said, snuggling aggressively. “He’s going to be my front-line model and we’re going to be so stupidly busy traveling all over the world and making money that he won’t even have time to miss you.”
Scooter about choked on an appetizer at that.
Rick peered over the rims of his glasses at Roni. “I thought your new line was going to be unmentionables.”
Roni gestured in Scooter’s direction like Vanna White. “Look at this man,” she said. “He could totally be an underwear model!”
