And then, all at once, his car became airborne.

His pulse did a tap dance, and he might have sighed in relief when he made it to the other side, but at the last moment the car took a nosedive, he lost control, and the impact of the car on the asphalt and steel knocked him out. With a wild, bouncing roll, the car began tumbling until it broke through the side rail, and plunged headlong into the water.
