Chapter 8

Jared nodded, and then fiercely kissed David into silence.

David wiped Jared’s tears, and leaned to kiss his eyelids. “I’m here now. I’m not going anywhere.”

Jared nodded, and then sobbed. His face was red and tense, and tears gushed from him hot and volcanic. David pulled Jared’s to his chest. He kissed the top of David’s head and whispered, “You’re tired, my love.”

Jared nodded into David’s chest, and encircled him with his arms. David reached over and turned off the light. They slept deeply that night, never apart.

In the morning, Jared was bright and cheery again.

“How about Stone Mountain?” he asked, walking out of the bathroom freshly showered and wearing only a towel.

“Hiking?” David asked, rising in the bed.

“All of it,” Jared said, throwing a swim suit at David.
