“Yeah,” he finally said, nodding. “I’ll take her.”
Felix grinned again and began texting. If the man kept looking at him like that, Jules may just have to adopt him, too.
“Charlie said they’re happy she found a home. He asked me about you and I told him you seemed like a great guy…” His face reddened. Felix cleared his throat and looked away. “You can pick up all the stuff she needs at the store tomorrow. If you need to come in a little late, that’s fine.”
Great guy? We’ve barely talked since I arrived on the island. Interesting.
“Thanks. I’ll run over there first thing in the morning. Now I just need to find a name for her.” He picked her off his chest and she looked sleepily at him. “She had on a bell when she ran in here. Maybe Belle?”
