Chapter 24

Jules sat with a silly grin on his face, knowing he’d do anything to make Felix happy. He was completely smitten. And he didn’t care who knew it. 8

The new temporary staff arrived that afternoon, with Dasher and Dancer pulling the sleigh. Jules had been waiting at the drop-off area, and when he saw Dancer, he knew it was time to mend some fences. He lifted his hand in greeting as Dancer snorted, pawing the ground with his hooves.

“I owe you an apology, Dancer,” Jules admitted as he stroked the top of the large beast’s head. “I’m not accusing you, but I’m saying I do understand if you were the one that told on me.”

Dancer eyed him warily, snorting and nodding.

Jules laughed. “Being sent here was the best thing that ever happened to me. I found my calling,” he confessed, then leaned close. “And I met Felix.”
