“You can’t come any sooner?” Amir asked, a little disappointed.

“Those two weeks were all that was available. A lot of people take vacations in the summer.”

“All right,” he said. “I will just have to be patient. But in that case, I am going to ask you to do something for me. I am alone in the house, which doesn’t happen very often. It is Friday and my family has gone to the mosque. I am not going because of my difficulty walking with my leg in this cast. Are you alone?”

“Yes,” I answered. “Just getting ready to take a shower and go to work. What would you like me to do?”

“Well,” he said, smiling broadly, “since you are getting ready to take a shower, can I see what you look like naked?”
