Chapter 63

Tyler didn’t seem to mind either. In fact, he looked relaxed for the first time—aside from when we’d gotten off earlier—since I’d met him.

“This is so cool,” he said while wandering around the place. “I like the colors.” He raised an eyebrow. “A way to pacify your inner beast using interior design?”

I laughed, pleased that he picked up on that right away. “I suppose you could say that.” I gestured to the living room and everything beyond. “Make yourself at home while I make a call or two. Food’s in the refrigerator, coffee above the sink. TV remote is on the small table next to the love seat.”

“Okay.”

I left him to it while I walked to my office next to the bedroom. I turned on my laptop and pulled up my notes and email. Then, I called Tildy.

“Darling!” she gushed in greeting. “Did you leave the place in one piece?”

“I did, Tildy. I appreciate this more than you know.”
