Chapter 68

“I believe you’re in my life because you’re meant to be. From the first time I caught your scent over a month ago, I’ve been obsessed with finding you. I didn’t care—okay, maybe a little—that you were robbing people. I just wanted to know who you were and find out why I had cum on my sheets every morning.

“There’s more than attraction here, Tyler, and I think with a little effort, we can be something good,” I said.

Tyler was shaking his head before I finished speaking. “As much as I like you, I’m bad news. Terrible things happen to people I lo”—his eyes blinked—”people I’m involved with, that I care about. I just met you and I already don’t want anything bad to happen to you.”

“Let’s work on this together. It will be okay, I swear it.” I looked at him earnestly, willing Tyler to agree.

He watched me for a minute before he said, “Okay. I’m willing to go on as we are, for now. Just don’t blame me if it all goes to shit. After all, I did warn you.”
