Chapter 31

“Well?” he prompted.

“There really isn’t much in the way of security at all. There are some decent quality mechanical locks on the doors. The street is well lit out front but there’s a back door. No electronics were in evidence. If the place is warded at all, the spell is faded to the point of almost non-existence. Getting in and out would be a piece of cake,” she said, shoving her hands in the pockets of her black jeans.

Archimedes slowly removed his gloves and steepled his fingers. “How many people did you see?”

“Two men. One is in his mid-thirties, a white guy, well built, and looks like maybe he works out, kinda hot, too. The second one is a little younger, thinner, middle eastern I think, although he has no accent so I would guess he was raised in this country.”

“Good. Thank you. If you could leave a sketch of what you saw in terms of room layout?”

“Of course.”

He said, “You may keep the keys if you like. I’m sure you can find a use for them.”
