“Absolutely. Employee discountis the most beautiful word combination in the world.”

“I bet.”

“But I find most of my fabrics in garage sales or second-hand stores or antique shops. You know, where I can find it really cheap. Sometimes I buy old clothes and cut them up.”

“Clever. But what do you sew when you don’t do holiday ornaments?”

I shrug. “Anything, really. Quilts. Blankets. Pillows. Stuffed animals.”

“That’s so cool. I admire creative people. I wish I was one, too.”

My eyebrows shoot up. “What do you mean? You’re creative.”

He shakes his head. “I could never come up with an idea like this. Or figure out how to carry it out.”

I tut at him. “Those cookies we just devoured like we hadn’t eaten in weeks? They were amazing. Yummy andpretty.”

“You really think so?”
