Chapter 16

“Oh, my God.” Emmett clapped a hand over his mouth, and tears filled his eyes. “Where did you findthis?”

“I made it,” I said.

Emmett gasped and clutched my hand.

“It wasn’t hard to find the insides. I ordered it online. And then I made the box.”

“This is—” A tiny sob broke through, and he sniffed. He didn’t try to stem the tears the flowed as he stared at the box. He swallowed hard. “This is the single best thing anyone has ever given me.”

“I’m glad you like it.”

“I loveit,” he said. Then he carefully closed the lid and placed the box on the coffee table.

Emmett turned to me, his face blazing with something I almost didn’t recognize. In the firelight, his hair shone and his eyes danced. And then he launched himself at me.
