“Perla should be bringing them shortly. I just wanted to come and ask you personally for your assistance.”


Seiichi gave a gap-toothed smile. “Master, we are always here to help you.”


Footsteps sounded outside the door, then the mat was pushed opened.


“That should be Perla now,” Cassian said, walking forward.


Instead, Rafiq stood in the entryway, his face pale and his smile gone.


“Master! Thank Gaius! There’s trouble.” 8


Yashiv’s stomach dropped as he left Master’s side. He would be fine at the library on his own. Nothing could happen there, securely placed near the center of the camp. There was nothing to worry about.
