“Five.”
“Table five. I’ll be back in a shake.”
“You got it,” he answered back.
On their way upstairs Grant stuck his head in Shayde’s office. “Hey, Shayde, is it okay if I give Paris the grand tour?”
“Sure, I guess so, but don’t take too long. He’s still got customers to take care of.”
“Got it.” 12
Later, while Grant was showing the apartment to Paris, they stood in the living room with Paris looking around as if he couldn’t believe it.
“Man, I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven. This is really something.” He walked out on the balcony and looked down. “Oh, wow!”
Grant smiled at his enthusiasm. He remembered how it felt the first time he had seen it. It felt as if he were standing on top of the world.
“My God, look at that view.” He turned back to Grant. “Hell, I feel almost guilty for living here rent free.”
“If you want I could…”
“Oh, no you don’t. I’ll get used to it.”
“I’ll be sure to tell Shayde how much you appreciate it.”
