Chapter 29

Noah’s lips, wet and swollen, his eyes half lidded, had Mason’s mind fighting for the reason why they stopped—it was a brawl Mason’s body wanted to concede.

Noah’s frown was the hint Mason needed.

“We can’t do this,” Mason said.

Noah scowled, and he struggled to take a step back.

Confused, Mason wouldn’t let him go.

“I’m sorry.” Noah’s voice came out rough and low. He moved his gaze from Mason and stared down at the floor.

Not understanding what the hell was happening, Mason’s mouth went dry, and his thoughts turned crazy.

“I’m sorry.”

In a horrified flash, Mason realized what Noah meant and pulled him forward again. Noah stood his ground, and still refused to make eye contact.

“I just meant we can’t do this in the kitchen because you’re hurting. Let’s go to the bedroom.”

Noah was hesitant to look up. “You sure?”
