Chapter 68

“I think you’re mistaken. I just texted your sweetheart because I needed some advice about the inn. I thought we could sit down and talk about business development. Obviously youhave issues.”

I decided to be even clearer. “I will politely tell you once to stay away from what doesn’t belong to you. Gray loves me, and I love him. Don’t insert yourself into our relationship if you know what’s best.”

He raised his eyebrows and blinked at me, a ridiculous grin forming on his masculine face. “Are you threatening me, Dixon?”

“It’s only a threat if you don’t listen to me. Don’t go getting yourself into that kind of trouble because I won’t take to it so nicely.”

“You don’t say?” he said sarcastically, almost tempting me to lunge across the bar and nail his face with a punch. Maybe the asshole needed a black eye or a bloody lip. Wouldn’t his inn enjoy talking about that?

I kept my cool, though, and replied, “You’re making me fight for what belongs to me.”
