Chapter 169

A string of Blue Coyote firefighters worked on ladders and from the ground, spraying down the inferno with plump hoses. Red strobe flashes illuminated the night from the pair of fire trucks. Two men were calling out orders, directing their teams during the blaze, attempting to extinguish the powerful blaze and its skin-charring heat.

Leonard McNamara, one of the BCFD’s most brave, tackled the flames from one of the fire truck’s ladders, flooding Fargo’s house with gallons of fresh water. He worked for the next ten minutes, tamping the sky-reaching flames to the best of his ability, swinging his hose from left to right in hopes of saving at least a portion of the residence.
