Next had been Nick. They’d been together two months, separating in May. This time Jordan had been the one to leave. Nick had a lot going for him. Monogamy hadn’t been part of the mix.
The first guy after college had been Steve. Steve left him in February—after seven months, the day before Valentine’s Day, because Jordan wasn’t paying enough attention to him. Jordan had been drowning in his first year of law school, and Steven evidently needed more.
He continued down the list. The first three had been the exceptions to the rule. Every other guy had cited “want different things” as the reason they left. Jordan had wanted a long-term relationship, and none of the other men were interested in being together for the long-term. At least, they weren’t interested in being in a long-term relationship with Jordan.
Three of them were married now, just not to Jordan.
