They way he’d paled in the ice cream shop had been on Felix’s mind all day. He was pretty sure it was due to his injuries, but what if it was Felix talking about Sunny? What if it reminded him of his cat?

He should tell him about the car accident, but how could he now when he wasn’t sure the cat was still buried in his backyard. Of course it was, dead cats didn’t disappear, and yet the handprint…

A gust of wind curled around his naked body, and he went to shut the balcony door. When he looked out the window, he saw a cat trot from the lawn onto the patio below. For a heartbeat, he stood there. Was he going insane? There couldn’t suddenly be cats everywhere.

His subconscious was trying to tell him something.
