Chapter 13

Within an hour they checked us in and we were unpacking in our rooms at the Glenmore Inn. I wondered what it might be like trying to sleep while knowing Luke was on the other side of the door between our rooms.

The hotel was clean, spacious, and although somewhat dated, the rooms were homey. I stayed in my casual clothes and went to the hallway to knock on Luke’s door. It was no surprise to see him standing shirtless wearing only shorts while he towelled his hair dry.

“I see you’re busy so I’ll wander on my own. Since I don’t know what our agenda might be, you could send me a text when you need me to return.” I did a quick sweep of his body before turning.

“Daniel, this evening is free, so if you’d like to explore by yourself, I’m good with that. But my preference would be to wander downtown together. Once I get dressed, I will make a few calls and get organized.”
