Chapter 38

“Lucas?”

He held up a hand to stop me from saying anything else. I watched as he took several deep breaths in an effort to calm himself. I left him to it, patiently waiting for him to figure out what he wanted to say. Pushing Lucas was never a good idea. Though it didn’t stop me from glancing at the clock on the wall to see how much time we had before we’d have to be on set.

Finally, Lucas took a very deep breath, let it out slowly, and shook out his hands before turning and giving me his attention. “I think you should move in with me.”

I blinked, nonplussed. “What?”

“My building is a lot more secure.”

Where was this coming from? “Lucas, I don’t…What is going on?”
