Chapter 33

Unless he’d been to Tiny’s club, Don Antonio would not know that the new receptionist had worked for Tiny. There were a couple of other staffers he hired, but the likelihood that his father would know where they worked before was slim.

“Your mother is flying back in from Kuala Lumpur, no doubt with a ton of batik and other silk fabric as gifts and pasalubong. We should go out to dinner as family tonight. I’m sure your mother will be happy to see you and Jizelle.”

“I actually had other plans tonight,” Jojo said, not volunteering that Jizelle, Roger, and he were planning to go to Tiny’s club. Jojo had planned on inviting Adam, too, if Adam wasn’t still upset from the other night.

“Oh?” Don Antonio said. “Change them. You can hang out with your friends another time. Your mother and I want to make an announcement together with you and Jizelle there.” Don Antonio then turned his attention to his computer, and away from Jojo.
