“You’re so cute in these photos,” Jojo said.


“Thanks.” There were other photos that Adam flipped through, and Jojo didn’t say anything. Some of them had pictures of another man, who appeared to be Adam’s and Jojo’s age. A couple of them showed Adam with his arm around him. “I’ve been planning to get rid of some of these pictures.”


“I guess the guy in the picture is an ex?” Jojo asked.


“Yeah, Craig. He works in construction still. That’s how we met. It’s just some of these pictures have good memories of me in Yosemite and the Grand Canyon.”


Adam shook his head. “No. I haven’t talked to him since I arrived in the Philippines. I don’t plan to either.” Adam sat there in silence. “He was the last person I’d been with. I used to wonder if we could make things work again with him, when I first came to the Philippines. But, I realized we’re better as friends.”
