Chapter 66

When I’d first laid eyes on him, I’d found him attractive, but now that I’d touched him, kissed him, and tasted his very essence, he was irresistible.

I bit back a moan and nuzzled my face into the crook of his neck. He smelled of sunshine and fresh air, and I wanted to push him to his back on the dock, straddle him, and lick him all over.

When he answered my question, I’d forgotten I’d even asked it. “I’m the world’s worst baseball player.” He rubbed his cheek against the top of my head, his light stubble catching on my hair. “I can’t catch a ball if my life depends on it.”

I hummed and brushed my lips against his throat. “You can’t be thatbad.”

“Oh, I am. Ask Sawyer. When he attended the first company picnic with me and I got roped into playing, he laughed so hard he almost peed his pants when he saw me. No one had ever dared to say it to my face before, but when my dear husband laughed at me, so did everyone else. Since then, Sawyer joined the team and I help with the food.”
