“The US Supreme Court is going to announce its decision on same-sex marriage any day. Most lawyers and constitutional pundits think that same-sex marriage will be the law of the land, five to four. Some are worried that based on the oral arguments and questions from Justices Kennedy and Ginsburg that there is a slim chance that nothing will happen in all fifty states because they want the political process to make the changes. Of course there are a few on the far right that believe, however incredibly, that the Supremes will say same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. But, you can’t undo what’s been made so we’ll write one that withstands any of these issues.”

RJ nodded. “Thank you, sir.”

Arthur pulled a paper from the side and passed it to RJ. “Here’s a current status of the value of the trust. Your grandfather started it in 1985.”

Winthrop peered over.

RJ swallowed. “That’s quite a few zeros. I thought it was less than the amount I’m seeing.”
